The Rodeo Mag presents

Six amazing bands across one incredible day of live music
Existing somewhere between Manchester and the Wild West, The Rodeo is a music magazine showcasing the best in new music across all genres. We are proud to bring an eclectic lineup of artists to Stockport with performances from Better Joy, Denver County Council, Katie & The Bad Sign, Henry Webb-Jenkins and more.
The Rodeo’s identity is inspired by American country music and diner aesthetic, though covers an eclectic range of great alternative music.
Better Joy, Denver City Council, Henry Webb Jenkins, Katie & the bad sign, Vulva Voce and more will be playing in what promises to be a great day of live music.
Better Joy
With her music described by BBC Radio 6 as bright, indie pop, better joy burst on the scene in 2024 with a string of singles and successful support tours; the start of 2025 saw a sell out of vinyls of her debut EP ‘heading into blue’ and a near sold out 10 city UK and EU debut headline tour in March 2025.
And 2025 isn’t slowing down: she’s the main UK support for indie pop Somebody’s Child, main UK & EU support for Amy Macdonald in November and February 2026. “I still can’t get my head round it, to be honest. I was playing to a Glasgow audience of 100 people in March and in December
I’ll be playing to over 13,000 at the Hydro Arena: it’s a bit bonkers”.
Denver County Council
Denver County Council are a Yorkshire-based four-piece powerhouse, fusing anthemic indie rock with touches of Americana and psychedelic influence. With gritty Northern charm and big-hearted, hook-laden choruses, their sound draws clear lines to the likes of Wunderhorse, The War on Drugs, and Kings of Leon—melodic, raw, and made for the big stage.
Henry Webb-Jenkins
The quintessential old head on young shoulders, Henry Webb Jenkins introduces his simmering 70s imbued songcraft, he writes with a style that sounds both naggingly familiar and of another era entirely.
A loyal and passionate fan of the likes of Warren Zevon and Gene Clark, Henry grew up with his dad’s rock music reverberating around the house in North West London; Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, and AC/DC, but found his kinship with a much gentler sound. The atmosphere and ambience of folk, but also the traditions of a singer-songwriter scene in Laurel Canyon proved inspirational to this North London musician.
Katie & the bad sign
Modern Bluesy Rock band with 70s influences that have recieved airplay on Planet Rock Radio and played stages at the best Blues festivals in the UK.
Vulva Voce
Vulva Voce pushes the boundaries of string quartet performance, blending folk, contemporary classical, jazz and techno influences. Centered on amplifying women’s voices, they exclusively perform works by women and underrepresented artists, including original and commissioned pieces. Their innovative approach has earned them recognition from The Recording Academy and BBC Radio 3, with collaborations spanning Grammy-winning classical artists to Glastonbury headliners. Recent performances included SXSW, Glastonbury Festival, WOMEX and Urkult Festival.
“They wreaked havoc with the traditions of the string quartet … savage originals that infused chamber music with a wild riot grrrl flair.” CLASH Magazine
